This app, for Cox Communications subsidiary Austin 360
can be thought of as Evite meets Yelp. Austin users can
either search for places and events, or plan a whole evening
of fun with their friends.
Founded in 1891, the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce has been a proactive leader in creating and promoting a strong local economy. The Chamber approached us earlier this year, to work on a rebrand since their original logo hadn’t been updated in decades.
The new logo includes a name change from ‘Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce’ to ‘Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce.’ The name change as well as a fresh updated look revitalizes the perception of the Chamber and represent its forward thinking and well respected voice for business.
The American Institute of Steel Construction is the main trade association for the Steel Industry. This brochure is used to show members the steps to becoming AISC Certified. Seeing as this was a step-by-step technical guide we knew that the content would be pretty dry, so we wanted to make a huge graphical splash. We did this by creating a iconic bent steel AISC graphic on the opening spread. I'm told that most of the employees at AISC headquarters have the brochure posted like art in their cubicles! How's that for making a splash?

One of our favorite projects we worked on is the Rolling Stone Rock Weekend, one of the biggest annual Super Bowl Parties. The party was comprised of two events including big acts such as LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes and The Roots, just to name a few. We developed the overall branding for the event, which included website design, backstage passes, event tickets and events signage. While closely working with the client, we were responsible for concept, design and overviewing the production of the website.
Who doesn't like ferris wheels and fried Snickers bars? We like both of those things - which is why we were so excited when Coconino County asked us to handle the art for the annual fair here in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The client came up with the tagline, There's Magic in the Fair. So we thought about what makes the fair so magical. What came to mind was that moment when you first visited a fair as a child - when you see the lights, hear the sounds and smell all the food. As far as we're concerned that moment is the epitome of magical. We tried to capture that moment by using an illustration of a little girl on her dad's shoulders, walking into the fair for the very first time.
We worked with the City of Flagstaff to develop this website. The focus of the site is to provide economic information about Flagstaff with the purpose of attracting businesses to this amazingly diverse city.
We wanted the site to be extremely easy to navigate; while also portraying Flagstaff as a city with great livability and a perfect place to operate a company.

Since 1971 eegee’s has evolved into a restaurant icon in Tucson, Arizona. With 23 locations, and counting, they’re nothing short of an entrepreneurial success story. Over the course of the past 4 years we took part in an extensive rebranding project for eegee's. We provided assistance with logo branding, strategy, storefront design, retail, website, marketing strategy, POP and everything in-between. To see a more detailed accounting of the eegee’s rebrand, see the complete case study.
The Coconino County Accommodation School District is an organization in Flagstaff that provides alternative education programs. They cover a wide range of needs - everything from high schools, juvenile detention teachers, childhood education and even teaching parents how to better prepare their children for school.
Some of the kids who attend these programs are the ones who might fall through the cracks if CCASD didn't exist. So with that in mind, it was important for us to communicate a real sense of pride and ownership.
One of the challenges we faced with this project was sourcing the big images we used. There's a large Native American demographic in their student population and there aren't a lot of sources for applicable images of Native American teenagers. We ended up being able to work with the talented Amy Horn who shot images of the actual students of CCASD.

This is an iPad app we designed for Cox Communications (through AllDigital). This version replaces the current app design for all of their local news and radio stations. We focused on keeping the app very streamlined and setting a strong visual hierarchy so that users can find what they need quickly.
The Sunnyside neighborhood here in Flagstaff, AZ is where 10% of the Flagstaff population calls home. In 1999, this neighborhood accounted for approximately 30% of the city's crime. Since then it has undergone a positive transformation like no other. The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association (SNA) has worked and fought hard to improve the lives of the people in Sunnyside.
This project started during a meeting where the SNA asked us to do a logo for a radio station they want to launch for the community. Most of the residents do not have computers and some don't have tv's, but they all have radios. When we asked to see the current branding for the association, they virtually had none. We decided that instead of just creating a logo for the radio station, we needed to create a whole brand system from the top on down. This brand is built for flexibility. The system elements that remain constant are the frame (representing the borders of Sunnyside) and the Sun. The rest of the space within the logo mark can be used for virtually anything. Also of note, because of budgetary constraints the logos are designed to work very well in one color.
We did the branding, wireframes and UI for this startup app developer. The product, Yeepa, is a shopping application that will sync with video and provide applicable items and discounts. Imagine watching Top Gun and then having the ability to buy Mavericks aviator sunglasses on your mobile device.
This is one of the older and more challenging UI
projects we've taken part in. The Montreal Gazette wrote a feature
article titled, Moving On, about the drastic population decrease in
Quebec. This is a flash-based info-graphic that encourages users to
explore the historical and political reasons for the population decline.
The premise of this iPad app was to show off Adobe's streaming technology by giving users access to live video feeds from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The actual design of this project we executed was published in April of 2011 for both iPad and Android tablets - this version was purely for exercise.
